Cook for the Cock

More than a decade ago, I bought a book titled "Cooking As Courtship" which was about the only book on the topic back in the day. It was not a practical cookbook nor a practical book on courtship.

I recently looked through Amazon.com looking for similar books and found "Cook to Bang: The Lay Cook's Guide to Getting Laid", "Cooking to Hook Up: The Bachelor's Date-Night Cookbook" and "The Seduction Cookbook: Culinary Creations For Lovers" all of which are practical cookbooks for guys who want to invite a girl over for dinner and impress them enough with their culinary prowess to lead them to bed.

My, my, how times have changed. Back in the day, only serious cooks could pull off things like this and make it work. Now I guess a lot of guys must be doing this or there would not be a market for books like this. No matter. This is Japan after all, and guys who can cook impressive meals without female help are still rather rare.

I have always known how to cook. It is a family thing, like knowing how to dance. Just as some kids grow up knowing how to dance, my siblings and I grew up knowing how to cook. It starts with setting the table doing the dishes. You grow up and you are promoted to sharpening the knives and chopping the chives. Eventually, you know how to bake the pate.

Sex and food has always had a subliminal connection, but the overt connection that we are increasingly seeing today is probablly largely the contribution of Anthony Bourdain. His stories of the chef screwing the bride behind the kitchen in the midst of a wedding party and other revelations truely made the connection for the masses. For true cooks, the connection had always been obvious. Good cooking may be a road to a man's heart, but it definately is a highway to a woman's passion.

Speaking of which, I also found some books with recipes utilizing known aphrodisiacs. "The New InterCourses: An Aphrodisiac Cookbook", "Fork Me, Spoon Me: The Sensual Cookbook" and "Romancing the Stove: The Unabridged Guide to Aphrodisiac Foods". Intriguing, but I only have so much room on my cookbook shelf. And good food is good enough. aphrodisiac properties of strawberry and garlic serves best as conversation items.

If you doubt my words that cooking can get you laid, try a three course dinner of spicy crab with fruit, candied lamb and a minted chocolate cake with ground coffee in the cream. Watch the effect take hold.

Maybe it's just me and my limited appetite but wouldn't a 3 course meal leave both of you too bloated? It's for this reason that I always prefer to mainly drink on a date rather than doing a prolonged dinner. Anyway sorry for the thread hijack, do continue.

Depends on how big the serving of each course is.
If you serve a seafood course from The Red Lobster, a meat course from Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and dessert from a wedding hall, you might be a bit too bloated for any other activities for the evening.
A little excercise might do you good though.

As a woman I'll raise a glass to this. Few things are sexier than my husband cooking.

I only say that if you men do cook, don't destroy the kitchen in the process. Asking the lady to pitch in and wash dishes is one thing, letting bits of things fly everywhere and leaving an excessive amount of gunk for her clean is another. Biggest way to undo the thrill! We start to regret not just doing everything by ourselves from the get go, and your bedroom plans are shot. If you can't help but make a big mess, volunteer to do double duty.

I make a point of making a mess, so she'll never want/expect me to cook again.

If you want something done right, make sure you do it wrong yourself so the person who knows how to do it right will step up and do it themselves. Smile
