I'll just write down some random stuff. No doubt you've all noticed/heard it before, but hell, it's all new to me.

1 Roppongi is cool. Roppongi is also annoying. It's definitely where all the Gaijin go to make freaking fools of themselves, but it's also the place where the girls who want to score with Gaijin go, so things are a little easier there

2 The metro is easier than I though it would be. So is the JR line. HOWEVER, I had real difficulty when transitioning from one to the other. It's almost like they want it to be some sort of fucking mystery. I felt like Indian Jones trying to assemble a map.

3 A smattering of Japanese is better than no Japanese. I think RC and I agreed we'd have pulled those 2 K Girls if I'd had even 10 more words of Japanese.

4 If you're a picky eater, you're going to starve. They still have McDonalds though.

5 I saw people doing manual labor. Slightly confused by this, I though they'd have h...

And apparently some banks that didn't get involved in sub-prime loans ARE really mad about the big banks getting the bailout. Here they were trying to do the right thing, and the government went and gave free money to the ones who did the wrong thing.
