Would it be possible to make the blog feature or maybe just my blog a members only thing where only members who are logged in can see it?

Give me a couple of months. I'm right in the middle of a huge project that I'm putting 15-20 hours a week into right now. The deadline is Jan 31st, which means I should be finished by the end of February

I'll be putting together a new site at that time. I started one a few months back, but it got put to the side for two reasons. One is because I had no focus on it - I tried to do too much, which ended up making nothing any good, and the other is because I got into this project. Anyways, once I'm done this project, that's pretty much my top priority for a month or so (which is how I long I figure it should take to hammer something out). At that point there will be more versatility between who can do what and where.
