Sucks to be a Yank...

during this time of the year. The tax man cometh. Well, I won't owe anything, but I still need to file which is a pain in the arse. In order to get the tax free exemption on money earned overseas you have to file.

I called the U.S.Consulate here and they do not have the forms. In the past I had always just gone to the consul in Osaka and picked up the forms there in the lobby.

So how do you fellow Americans file. E-file? If so can anyone recommend a good one to use.

Groovy. Thanks. KV

Check this forum. Yes, it's mostly expats in the UK, but same deal.

I've never filed in the US. Supposed to but can't, and now a bit pissed off and 'won't-ish' about the whole issue. Canada, though.. I have to file for 2006. How, no idea yet.

You can print all the forms you need from the IRS website.

The forms can be tricky cause alot of them are very similar so print out the directions otherwise you will fill out the whole form only to realize it was the wrong one. You have till June though if you include a letter about how you are in Japan and wish to exercise the "I am in Japan and for some reason have two extra months right". That's what I do.

Speaking of sucking to be a Yank, congratulations on Club Bounce!

[url=http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,569668,00.html]LONG BEACH, Calif. — Move over, it's Saturday night at Club Bounce and people are bouncing onto the dance floor in a big, big way.

These are big, big people, all dressed to the nines and many tipping the scales at 250, maybe 300 pounds.

That's because this expansive nightclub a couple blocks from the Pacific Ocean, with its flashing lights, friendly atmosphere and wall-rattling hip-hop sounds, caters specifically to fat people.

If you tried to make a Club No Fat Chicks you'd get absolutely destroyed.

At least the bouncers at normal nightclubs can say to women "Umm... why don't you go try your luck at Club Bounce?"
