A security meeting in Abuja is begging held as authorities in Jos bury hundreds of hacked bodies of victims, mostly women and children, in mass graves.

A spokesman for the state government, Gregory Nianlong, says at least 500 people were slaughtered in a night raid on three villages near Jos, capital of Plateau state. There was no independent confirmation of the figure.

Lagos — It is common to see sewage being emptied into the lagoon in Lagos on a daily basis, especially in areas like Ijora-Badia, Lagos Island , Iddo, Makoko-Iwaye in Bariga, Tolu in Ajegunle and Ajegunle near Mile 12 along Ikorodu Road just to mention a few.

Jo'burg: I lived there from '86 to '90 and it was an incredibly beautiful city, with bougainvillea and mimosa trees everywhere. Plus housing was really cheap and we had a multi-acre garden -with fucking monkeys in it.

And South Africa is notoriously beautiful: Cape Town, Drakensberg, all the natural parks -Kruger and all.

Plus it was safe then.

As for Lagos, yeah, there's trouble pretty much all the time in Jos, Abuja, Delta State etc., but man, when I was there, it was just fun, you know. Fucked up but fun. Like being on another planet. And I loved the beaches.

Plus in Lagos, if you stay on Victoria Island or Ikoyi, you're not really in harm's way.

The wild life is pretty non-existent though. They ate all the elephants.
