Great restaurant with authentic Italian food for reasonable prices and good-sized portions. The tencho is a modest, stand-up guy who worked in a Michelin listed restaurant in Italy for 5 years and it shows.

The menu changes regularly so it's tricky to recommend any one thing, but the pasta and secondi are all great( the huge grilled pork plate comes to mind which is amazingly good value for Japan). Most dishes are around 1000 yen each but the size of them means the bill won't be too steep. Even for the table wine (400 yen), you get double the amount in a "glass" than you would elsewhere.

It's not just big portions though. I honestly challenge anyone to find this standard of Italian food anywhere in Tokyo for this price. Its one downside is being a bit out of the way, but definitely give it a try if you are close to Shinagawa.

Lunchtime comes to around 990 yen. For dinner, expect to pay 2500-4000 depending on how much you and your date like to eat/drink.

This is a very popular but small restaurant with few places free, so forget about turning up on a weekend without a dinner reservation.
